The Wife and I Go Rock Fishing for a Fresh Fish Cook Up on the Rocks

In the video below, Linda and I take advantage of some fantastic warm sunny Cornish autumn weather and spend the afternoon fishing off the rocks.  The plan was to see what we could catch and if succesful, cook the fresh fish on the rocks with a portable barbeque.

We do some spinning and float fishing and have a great fun fishing afternoon with some fresh seafood to eat and enjoy.  Fishing and cooking fun in the sun.

Shore Lure Fishing for Bass – Night into Dawn - Awesome Time to Fish

Night-time and night into dawn can be a great time to go lure fishing for Bass.  In the video below, I start fishing well before dawn in the dark over shallow rough groung using a shallow working lure the 26g Westin Salty and the fish catching action was pretty quick.

In addition to the fishing, I talk about the solunar theory/forecast and if it is worth taking into account when choosing times to fish.

Shore Lure Fishing from the Rocks - When the Winds in the East

UK shore fishing is tough at the best of times and from my experience there is some truth in the saying when the winds in the east the fish bite the least although it does not mean you cannot catch anything.

In the video below, I am back on the rocks in the hope of at least catching something, Mackerel, Bass, or Pollack.  The wind had been in the east all week with high pressure and sunny weather, which had been great but not so great for shore fishing.  My best hope of success was to start fishing before dawn in very low light conditions and that proved to be the case.

Shore Rock Fishing - Early Morning Spinning for Bass and Mackerel - Seal Problem

In the video below, I do some rock fishing spinning for Bass and Mackerel starting before dawn.  Dawn is a great time to be out fishing and can make the difference between catching and not catching.

I had a bit of an abundant Seal problem however, that did not stop me catching a few fish.

Shore Fishing - Jigging Jigs for Mackerel - Sink and Draw - Beginners Guide

Spinning for or jigging for Mackerel from the shore is a great fun way to target them catching them one at a time.

In the video below, I fish a rock mark in Cornwall jigging for Mackerel using a single jig and show for beginners the sink and draw method, which can be a very effective way and an alternative to spinning.

Spring Fly Fishing for Trout – Almost the Five Fish Limit - Two Trout at Once – Innis Fly Fishery

Back at the Innis Fly Fishery Cornwall for some spring stillwater fly fishing for Trout. Shown in the video below, it was a great day with plenty of action and a first for me hooking two Trout at once.

Hooking two Trout at once is one thing but landing them is another.  Fish were caught experimenting with different flies such as lure flies, nymphs, and buzzers. In addition to the fishing, I had a chat with the owner  of Innis Fly Fishery Dave Johns.  Once again it was a very enjoyable day with some fish to take home to the fish smoker.

Pro Style Crab/Lobster Pots for Shore and Kayak Crab/Lobster Fishing – How to Setup and Use

Recreational shore and kayak Crab and Lobster fishing using pots is great fun and an enjoyable change from fishing for fish.

In the video below, I look at the pro style very good quality pots I use that can be managed from a kayak or managed from the shore.  I talk about how the pots work and how they are deployed both from the shore and the kayak.  These pots will catch Spider Crab (Cornish King Crab), Brown Crab (Edible Crab), and Lobsters.

Catch, Dispatch, and Cook Cornish King Crab - AKA Spider Crab - Shore Crab Fishing

Shore crab fishing in the video below putting out a Crab/Lobster pot for the first time this year with the most likely catch being Spider Crab now rebranded in Cornwall as Cornish King Crab in the hope the name will help to make the tasty crab more appealing to would e diners than the name Spider Crab.  Hopefully, it will help to sell the crab to the domestic UK market for the benefit of the local fisherman.

The video shows the catching of the crabs and the dispatching.  Back home I cook the crabs and prepare by removing the claws and extracting the meat from the body and in addition, for the first time experiment by smoking a couple of the crab claws, which was interesting.
